Pines I

There is a special appreciation for me of  the pine tree – it’s height, the wonderful green that is in  all seasons, and the great variety of the species.

An evergreen tree was planted on our country property for each of our 4 children. The seedlings were about 2 foot high when planted and the experiment was to see how tall and strong they would grow as would the children. Those trees have grown strong and tall and so have the children! On walks I would tell them that the boughs were lifting up in prayer of praise because they look like cathedral spires… beautiful and inspiring.

When the sun glistens through a group of pines, it resembles sun streaming through the windows into the interior of a cathedral… it sparkles with moving light.
